Merry Christmas from Breighton & Basette Photography!

This is, without a doubt, our favorite time of year. The celebration of Christ's birth, the egg nog, the lights (which make for wonderful bokeh), the gathering of family and friends...and the amazing memories. It's a beautiful thing.

However, for families with children who are battling cancer, this time of year poses a lot of challenges. The joy of this season, which can otherwise be taken for granted, becomes much more difficult to achieve for families who are combating this disease. But there are things we can do to help.

This year we volunteered with The Dragonfly Foundation, a non-profit organization that gives support for children, and their families, who are fighting with the toll of cancer and bone marrow transplants. Based here in Cincinnati, Ohio, The Dragonfly Foundation was started by two friends, Christine Neitzke and Ria Davidson. After each of them had endured their own family struggles with cancer, they combined their experiences and their passion, and created a foundation with the express purpose of offering events, activities, entertainment, gifts and emotional support for children and families who are going through similar situations.

So when we received word that The Dragonfly Foundation was hosting a Christmas party (complete with Santa, Mrs. Clause, and Rosie Red from the Cincinnati Reds) we were excited to get involved and provide some free portraits for the children and families that Dragonfly serves. But it doesn't end there. We'd also like to ask all of you to join us in helping this wonderful foundation.
